(1) Get all guarantees, warranties and promises in writing.
(2) Always make sure any professional you hire is insured and licensed.
(3) Upon job completion, it is good practice to walk through the job to ensure satisfaction.
(4) Ask the company for customer references who have had work performed similar to yours.
(5) Always ask about insurance, check references and take caution before, letting someone into your home. Many individuals ignore no soliciting signs and will go door to door, or will litter your town with snipe signs advertising their services. Most of these are “fly-by-nights,” in-between jobs, do not carry insurance and are not bonded.
(6) As the old saying goes, “you get what you pay for.” You don’t have to overpay, but be wary of the lowest prices you can find.
(7) Use a well known and reputable company who you can always find in the future or be able to easily contact for any reason. You want an established company that you can count on so you always have a point of contact.
